I took a day-trip with my family on the Orient Ferry to New London. You may not want to bring a big DSLR like the Canon 7D with a few lenses on a family outing. This is the perfect time for the tiny Sony RX100. Since I am still learning how to use the camera, most photos were taken in the “Superior Auto +” mode saved as Raw and processed in Lightroom 4.2 RC. Take a look at the lighthouse photo below. It shows the camera’s image stabilization at work at the zoomed in max. Even at a 100%, the photos is clear and sharp.
The day is much lighter with a camera that fits in your pocket!
