Canon 7D Tips – Fall on Long Island 2012

Fall on Long Island provides an excellent opportunity for a landscape photographer.  Country roads with a dense variety of trees creates a wonderful palette of colors.  Best yet, it’s an easy commute from New York City.  I was concerned that the Indian Summer would cause the leaves to just drop instead of turn.  Two weeks ago, that seemed the case.  But, then there was a cold snap last week and that’s all the trees needed.  Just take a look at these photos.

I love the reds and oranges.  There is a way to really enhance these colors in-camera before you start processing the files in Photoshop CS6 or Lightroom 4.  All of these photos were taken with Hoya’s Red Intensifier Filter.  Reds and oranges are deepened without affecting the remaining blues, greens and yellows.  It’s the perfect tools for shooting fall foliage.

All of these photos were taken with the Canon 7D, Canon 17-55mm EF-S and Hoya Red Intensifier Filter.
