First day of PhotoPlus Expo, and there were no real surprises. Canon had the largest booth covering their entire Pro and Consumer lines. The Canon 6D was on display as was the 200-400mm L. (The 6D is noticeably smaller than the 5D Mark III.) Both were preproduction models.
Sony did have the new RX1 on display next to the little wonder RX100.
Westcott had one of the coolest new products on display – the Icelight. It is a daylight balanced light wand suitable for still and video. Think Star Wars light sabre and you get the idea. For continuous video use, it is only rated for an hour but you could get a full day for stills.
Custom Brackets has a great new video cage called HDV Pro which folds down into a packable unit. All machine metal and very well made.
