Baz Luhrmann knows how to create a visually dazzling spectacle.  Love or hate his movies, you can’t help but fall for the eye-candy on the screen.

For his new movie, The Great Gatsby, Baz relied on designer Miuccia Prada to create 41 costumes which combined a 1920 flair with recent designs from both the Prada and Miu Miu lines.  The results is an art deco dream of flappers, crystals, sequines and feathers.  There is a reason why Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire stop in there tracks when they see  Carey Mulligan.  And, you do not have to wait for the next Costume Exhibit at the Met to see these costumes in person.  They are currently on display at Prada’s SOHO boutique in New York City.  The exhibit ends May 12, 2013 but you can see the photos below.
