I was walking through Times Square in NYC this evening and caught them testing the newly installed 2014.  Thankfully, I had my Sony RX100 M2 with me.  And, yes, the 14 is a different color.  It changed from vivid red to soft white.  One grand stand was already in place, possibly for Anderson Cooper & Kathy Griffin on CNN.  See below.
