The High Line in NYC has its own personality.
A cultivated garden of plants and trees grown on the remains of an elevated train track. It looks like something out of a sci-fi movie … part steam-punk fantasy, part urban redevelopment … covering almost 20 city blocks. It travels along side skyscrapers and through them. Each section provides a unique view of New York City. There is plenty to see and eat … gourmet push carts and restaurants are available in various sections (especially Melt with its handmade premium ice cream sandwiches) . The High Line also passes within one block of the Chelsea Market. It’s a wonderful place for a late afternoon stroll.
If you are visiting New York City, you should see the High Line!
