The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art debuted its most impressive exhibition since Alexander McQueen’s Savage Beauty. The new show is China: Through the Looking Glass and explores the impact of Chinese aesthetics on Western fashion. The Costume Institute and the Met’s Department of Asian Art collaborated on the collections of high fashion, Chinese costumes, paintings, porcelains, and films featuring more than 140 examples of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear alongside Chinese art. It’s an amazing show!
