Looking for something to do on a hot Summer Day? Visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art and see the Costume Institutes Spring exhibit – Camp. It is on display until September 8, 2019.
The Costume Institute tends to alternate between good shows and meh. Camp could have been a good show. But, by cramming the display into one area with double decker exhibits, this exhibit was clearly built for Instragram and not actual viewing. It’s bright and brash and overly stylized, basically camp.
UrbanDictionary.com defines camp as :
something that provides sophisticated, knowing amusement, as by virtue of its being artlessly mannered or stylized, self-consciously artificial and extravagant, or teasingly ingenuous and sentimental.
Campy definition of camp! Perfect! Lots of photos to see. All taken with the Sony RX100 VI.
