Every photographer has that elusive bird that they want to “get”. For years, I have been hoping to photograph a Kingfisher. They are fast birds that can be very erratic and skittish. I have heard people talk about them, I have even heard them in the wild, but I have never seen one in person. But, today was different!
I was sitting near a large pond looking at an Osprey (what else…) when I saw this funny looking “Bluejay”. I followed it to a perch and zoomed in. It was a Belted Kingfisher. Thankfully, I had the Canon R7 and the Canon RF 100-500mm L lens and I took the following series.
