I am so impressed with the detail captured with the Canon R5 Mark II that I wanted to share these two images. I was shooting with the Canon RF 600mm f/4 today with the R5II and it was a real pleasure. I was having such a good time that I decided to try adding the Canon RF 1.4 Extender (eq. 840mm). The photo below is the uncropped file. The photo above is the cropped file. Pretty damn impressive! The bald eagles were pretty far away.

I did notice an issue with highlights being too bright, namely the bald eagles heads. I used a -1 exposure in the camera to handle that. Overall, the images are GREAT, only needing minor tweaks in Lightroom.
Updated Note: Battery Life is terrible compared to the Canon R5! If you can buy extra Lp-E6P batteries, grab them. I shot 600 photos between yesterday and today. On the R5, I would be at about half battery. With the new R5II, my battery was exhausted. I use the LCD Eye Panel instead of the screen waiting for the money shot. I am guessing the live preview function is a bigger battery drain than the original R5.
More to come!
