Part 2 of the Star Trek Universe on Day 3 of New York Comic Con focused on the new series Starfleet Academy. Holly Hunter, Paul Giamatti, Karim Diane, Kerrice Brooks, Sandro Rosta, Bella Shepard, and George Hawkins discussed the new show.  Stephen Colbert who will appear as the Dean of the Academy taped a segment for Comic Con.

The show will take place in San Francisco at the Academy and then on a ship as the students complete test runs.  They also clarified that the Academy will take place in Discovery’s future timeline, not in Strange New Worlds timeline.  Since Discovery’s efforts restored Starfleet, the Academy is set to train new cadets and expand Starfleet.  The cast is young, and Kerrice Brooks was so overcome appearing at Comic Con that should cried.  This series will be great!
